The pilgrimage of Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes, patron saint of Santa Cruz, is surely one of the oldest pilgrimages in the province of Ciudad Real. It begins with the sunrise, when Mass is celebrated in the Parish Church early, in this way there is time to move the image of the Virgin to its Sanctuary Hermitage. Before arriving, there is a stop to rest in the place called the "Humilladero", where they sing and dance jotas manchegas or other typical regional dances.
The festival finally begins with the arrival of the image of the Virgin to the Bullring of the hermitage, when firecrackers are burnt to celebrate the event. Then there are all kinds of activities carried out in the natural place; meals, dances, games, shopping for local items... Finally, a bullfighting celebration is held in the aforementioned bullring, which has a unique square shape.
This pilgrimage has ended up being declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.
