Among all the activities that are organised in Ciudad Real during carnival, the one that highlights the most is the parade of ‘Domingo de Piñata’. During this Sunday morning (which is the second Carnival Sunday), the parade declared of Regional Touristic Interest is carried out. In this incredible celebration, some local and regional groups participate and show the great effort that they have made during the previous months.
Altogether, in this parade, 3500 people take part. Around 20.000 visitors decide to go to Ciudad Real in that day. In this parade, which lasts more than four hours, the winner gets the ‘Arlequín de Oro’, one of the most prestigious prizes between all the carnival parades of the province.
The festival ends 4 days before the Lent Sunday
It takes place in the streets of the city, at the same time of the Contest of Floats.
