Villarubia de los Ojos has a very emotional Holy Week characterized by its 8 processions, which run through the streets of the city over six days (Friday of Dolores, Sunday of Ramos, Holy Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday). These processions are especially remarkable because of their beauty, their mystery steps (signed by sculptors of the stature of Faustino Sanz Herranz and Francisco Romero Zafra), because of the passion that their ‘costaleros’ put while they are carrying the different steps, and for their solemnity. It was declared of Regional Tourist Interest.
Currently, more than 3500 brothers participate, divided between the three Brotherhoods of Villarrubia, with a massive public influence during the tours, whether neighbors or tourists.
