This micro-reserve is located between the municipalities of Alcázar de San Juan and Quero, in the province of Toledo. It has saline and halophilic plant characteristics. This seasonal wetland is marked by the endorheism that characterises it by its saline soil.
Furthermore, it is located in a valley through which the river Cigüela flows, which provokes easily flood of the river.
The richness and uniqueness of its habitats and species led to its inclusion in the recognition as a Site of Community Importance of Wetlands of La Mancha.
