Las Tablas de Daimiel National Park

The unique wetland known as Las Tablas de Daimiel was declared a National Park in 1973, a Biosphere Reserve in 1981, and included in the Ramsar Convention in 1982. It is the last representative of an ecosystem called fluvial tables, a formation produced by the overflow of the Guadiana and Cigüela Rivers, favored by the slope scarcity in the terrain. With its declaration as a National Park, a great step was taken in the conservation of one of the most valuable ecosystems of our planet, thus ensuring the survival of the birds that use these areas as wintering, feeding and nesting.

We are welcomed at the Visitor's Center where we can get information about all the activities, the visit can be done freely through the marked trails, or accompanied by interpreter guides.
